Valentine's Day

Another day set up for commercialization. Florists, greeting card makers, jewelry stores, and chocolatiers are bringing in the ol' mighty dollar from 1 day in February. I shouldn't criticize as I have benefited in recent years as the recipient of powder blue jewelry boxes and dozens upon dozens of flowers.
This is just one of the few times during the year I wish the personal desire to share a thought, send a gift, make a wish, or offer a greeting was because he would have done so anyway even if society wasn't whispering loudly in his ear.
